Gamepass model molded xbox gamers to not buy games period. Gamepass cant support all these acquisitions. Its a failed model. Thats why there shifting to selling games on switch,pc and Playstation. Xbox fans are dwindling. Its sad. "Im tired boss"

People lose their trust for xbox every 2-3 months and it's all doom and gloom for a whole week maybe even 2 and then Phil says something that isn't blatantly clear but masterfully worded and everyone forgives and forgets until it inevitably happens again in a few months

Kinda Funny staff - Thanks for showing a lot of empathy for the game developers. This is the worst I've seen the industry since I joined right after Sept 2001. I never have full blind faith in a corporation. Never ever ever ever. Short term stock gains for long term harm to a fragile industry just hurts my brain and soul. I'm so sick of it all. Younger devs who first got into games during Covid and WFH, I don't even know how they can process all of this.

The morbid thing about this is that in the grand scheme of things. Phil is good leadership. He is keeping Xbox profitable. When it comes to stockholders that it is the only thing that matters. It doesn’t matter what we feel as long as Xbox can still announce record profits. We are nothing but fodder and numbers to these corporations.

Even the Call of duty studios aren't safe from getting axed if COD doesn't meet expectations, but somehow 343 even after making 3 of the worst Halo games still manages to survive? what the hell Microsoft, at least Tango and Arkane had stronger portfolios then 343 does. I know this is a recurring trend in the gaming industry, but things need to change.

Now if we're being honest, Kendrick's verse on "Like That" was bait. Cole and Drake ate it up and Cole came out the gate first with "7-min Drill" and I 100% believe Kendrick called/texted Cole that he should stay out of it hence the apology. 45:55 this feels like a big mistake. Microsoft's earnings were up 20% year over year. Phil Spencer will probably finish the year out millions and millions of dollars richer. I would never advocate for attacking someone, but who cares about his emotions? Who cares if Phil is having a hard day? Obviously his fellow executives and co-workers do, but let's face it, THEY ARE THE PROBLEM. Mike Ybarra was certainly part of the problem at Activision Blizzard. You’re talking about how Microsoft could do this with all the money they have and only the investors care, but guess what Little owed me who makes less than $100,000 a year I’m an investor in Microsoft that is in my portfolio. When I turned 62 I need them to have made as much money as humanly possible. No, I don’t want them to behavein an evil manner, but they have to understand what it takes to make money. Don’t go hire kids to work and sweatshops but I also understand how you can’t pay someone who does general labor $100 an hour. Do I think you deserve a living wage absolutely does a person who does menial labor for a living deserve $50 an hour no not at all.

One correction: HiFi Rush didnt happen under Phils leadership. It was being created since 2017 before they even bought the studio. The creator outwardly stated that.

Greg, dude, stop inhaling copium. Phil got way more money than it would take to buy Nintendo. Not the videogame division mind you. The entire company. The results? Gamepass subscriptions stalling. Xbox consoles being outsold by Playstation, again. Him coming to this very podcast to apologize for his lack of studio management skills, and to let Xbox fans know those 70 billion are not enough to compete, let alone win against Sony. Then just 1 year after that here we are. 2 studios closed after just one game. The s**t one stayed exclusive to Xbox, while the quality one has a PS5 version, that looks slightly better than the Series X version for some insane reason. And the cherry on top. 5 of the games announced back in *2019,* still don't have release dates, or even release windows. If it was any other company, Phil would be cleaning his desk, or at least go down the corporate ladder due to gross negligence.

I think Gary's right (as usual) about Indiana Jones. I think that game is a massive flop in the making and could easily be the death of that studio, as well.

I’m going to say it. Games are too cheap. Salaries and costs have ballooned in the past 10-15 years but full price games have gone up $10? GTA 6 need to be $100 minimum. These companies are going to continue to act like businesses and always react to their headcount based off profit %, not gross revenue.
